Yes, I'm still alive. Just swamped. Why take a vacation if you have to work like a dog to catch up. Holy crow.
I'm in an uber crusty mood tonight and so I have a pet peeve to discuss. Say you ordered a bag from me, (and let's keep in mind this is the internet, right? You don't know shit from shinola about me!), and I charged your credit card and then told you that your bag was mailed and "on it's merry way in 7-10 days. Then I said Toodle Loo, internet shopper, wait for your bag! I hope you enjoy it when it shows up at your door step. *wink, wink*
I know in a heartbeat, you guys would be asking me for a damn TRACKING NUMBER, right? And damn skippy you should be asking for a tracking number. You just laid down $250+ for something, you better know where it is. Like how else are you gonna know for sure that some crack head (ahem) on the internet selling REPLICA bags no less really sent the package, right?
Well it kinda sorta works both ways, folks!
I had 5 returns this XMAS due to damaged bags, bags not being the right colour, style, etc (not bad out of close to 900 bags in total). I had 5 people return the bags to me. Five. In my return instructions that I emailed to all FIVE, I wrote in CAPITAL LETTERS make sure you get a TRACKING NUMBER. Choose the cheapest service you can find but make sure you get a tracking number. You know a method that tells me you actually sent the package and should it go missing something that we can call the Post Office up on and give them shit for? This makes sense, right? I'm not asking too much, right?
I had two people who thought tracking numbers are these newfangled inventions and didn't bother to get them because the tracking number option to return a package cost $15.00-$20.00 more than the cheaper alternative they did send the package on. Guess what? And of course this would happen to me, one of those packages was mailed end of December. It's now mid January and no package.
Now, hang on. Mail is nowhere nearly as bad as people make it out to be but I'm thinking, from my perspective, that my peace of mind is worth $15.00-$20.00.
I'm not picking on any body, but I really find people that don't listen annoying - word. I know it costs more but if the tables were turned and I thought, oh the hell with it, Imma gonna gamble on these shipments and didn't bother to get tracking numbers, EVERY SINGLE person ordering a bag from me would SHIT on my head. And rightfully so.
It's a two way road, folks. Returns are a part of running a retail business. There is nothing I can do about returns. And ultimately I want you to be happy with your purchase, and so if returning it will bring that happiness, then so be it. BUT when the return policy states GET A TRACKING NUMBER to make your return smooth and successful, it means, yes, say it with me, folks, GET A TRACKING NUMBER!!
I am going to re-double, triple stress on the website that if you send me back merchandise AND you don't have a tracking number AND the package goes missing, you're gonna wish you paid the $15.00 to send the package.
Okay, rant over. Sheesh.
Happy Shopping!
