Perfect for Fall

Prada jewelry is now on the new site.  I mean really nice Prada jewelry!

The kind of stuff that is really in and really hot for 2011.

I have a secret to share.  Well, not really a secret but an indulgence.  I am a costume jewelry junkie.  My husband is Italian and so if it's not 24K shiny fresh out of the mine gold, it's garbage to him.  I don't feel that way.  Like handbags, I want quantity.  I want to have lots of funky pieces that go with different outfits and shoes and not one piece that I mortgage the house for and have to thus wear everyday.  I hate the lack of variety and I get bored easily with the same pieces day in day out.

Wanna know another reason why I prefer costume jewelry?  No, not because I'm cheap!  When I turned 30, my husband bought me some really REALLY nice (read:  expensive) princess cut diamond studs to celebrate the big decade.  Guess what I did?

By day 12 I had lost one!  Yes, not even two weeks and I had lost one of the studs.

I told him when I met him that I don't like real diamonds and real gold.  Well, come on, let's not be silly. I love REAL diamonds and REAL gold and REAL platinum but I am careless enough to lose them in a heartbeat.  I have really, really long hair (yes, even at my age!) and my hair will get caught in my earrings and pull them out, without me know it.

I have learned to appreciate really nice costume jewelry for both the cost and for allowing me to match a red pair of shoes to a grey outfit with the right red stoned bracelet!

And let's not be ignorant here.  Some really nice costume jewelry costs as much as some small, real pieces!  This necklace by Prada is only made in costume jewelry mode and let me tell you it's well over $1000.00 bucks.  Easy.  Ain't got a real diamond or real gold link on it.  Does have the Prada name on it though.  $1000.00 bucks.

I'd cry if I lost it.  Or broke it. I still hear, 9 years later, about the diamond stud I lost!  Yes, my husband guilts me every time the topic of earrings comes up. *rolls eyes*

I'll take costume jewelry.  Thanks!

Fancy Prada necklaces are kinda pricey.  I have to admit they are expensive due to sheer weight of the item and the amount of time that goes into making one of these puppies.  $150USD and that includes shipping and inspection service to anywhere in the world.

Happy Shopping!!
