Here's what you gotta do. Please don't be discouraged. It's XMAS time and regardless of religion or faith, it's a time to give. This has been a brutal year economically for most of us. It's important to remember that while we can sit here and casually talk about handbags, most people are wondering where they will get their next meals.
Here's the contest. Please donate a few hours of your time (let's say 4-5hrs) and write me a short description of what you did and how you made a difference. How will I know you didn't make it up? I won't but I think that if you are honest to yourself and see that this act is more than winning a bag, then you will be honest to me too.
The story you send me has to do with volunteer time you take on after December 1, 2009. You cannot write to me about a time back in 1999 when you donated some time to your high school dance committee (and expect to win, that is). Please make sure the volunteerism has something to do with helping / aiding the less fortunate in your area or on a bigger, global scale. Helping women shelters and helping children in any way is always a good and simple way to make a difference.
