I've been beyond busy lately. I have no idea how I am even operating but it's not on sleep. I have a complete line of woman's business suits coming in and then I have 4 lines (!!) of winter coats for women, men and children! That is an unreal amount of importing and I'm exhausted. Not to mention, I work full time (yes, this is all on the side for me), I raise kids, trek them to hockey, swimming and indoor soccer! I try to keep a house (it's not always done well - *hangs head in shame*)...Yeah, I'm tired.
I can already, however, tell *knocks on wood* that 2010 is going to be a year of growth for everyone!
With the high demand that I'm already facing for coats, suits, party / prom / formal dresses, wedding dresses, and what not, I can tell that people will once again feel somewhat comfortable and spend again. It's been a tough year for us all and I hope all of you have made it through.
I hope we never see a recession like this one again. I have friends who lost their jobs in November 2008 and still in 2009 have not found something. The sad part is that my friends all hold university degrees and had professional jobs that paid good wages. The sadder part is that if they're having a hard time, I know people with less are suffering so much more. I know general labourers and retail associates are hurting big time.
I have a yearly tradition and that is to volunteer at a local soup kitchen every Sunday. It's not easy but it makes me give thanks for everything that I possibly can. I get up at 430am every Sunday and go work the kitchen, feeding the poor, until 8am. I can assure you by noon I'm ready for a 5 hour slumber!
I wish. A woman's work is never done.
Having said that our American neighbours are celebrating Thanksgiving Thursday! (I originally wrote TOMORROW). And I truly believe that there is no better time than now to be giving thanks.
God bless.
