That's It Folks!

Orders after today will not be guaranteed for XMAS at all.  I'm sorry but now it's just too tight and with the mail system, the volume increase at XMAS, we're done like dinner.

Any orders placed with me as of December 1, 2009 are now a free fall for when they will arrive.  It's a keep fingers crossed and hope for the best scenario.  I have over 267 bags to get out!  So you might not hear from me for the next couple of days.

I used to do it by memory but I can assure you that that system has been replaced with Excel!  Thank God for computers!

I leave you with the brand new Chloe Sally handbag!  Excellent replication.  Classy handbag.

Comes in a ton of colours including cream, pink, red, black in python (steer clear of the exotic skins for real authenticity), cream, black, light brown, yellow, light purple, and many more.

Very good detailing.  Very good hardware copy.

Overall: A+ copy.

$260USD delivered to most areas.

Chanel

Chanel has like 2 million new bags out now.  I am going to upload them to the site over this coming weekend.  Some of the new bags are awesome looking.  Like really sharp.  Case in point:

This is a very hard to find handbag.  I'm lucky because the factory I deal with for Chanel is the leading manufacturer of all things Chanel.  This is a grey (an absolute must of a colour for this season), quilted FABRIC classic flap purse.

This bag is truly beautiful.  Despite being fabric, it still feels luxurious!

Here are some more angles of the same bag.

Chanel also has pretty out there stuff.  I checked on some of these and they are the real deal.  They are the styles introduced for 2009 and 2010.  The traditional Cambon has been uplifted with furry trim and made in two tone colours.

More grey bags.  This bag was the patent leather hobo that I had pics of in September. This is the grey leather counterpart.  It's a sexy bag.

Then I don't know what happens.  Karl or some other big wig at Chanel loses it.  They also have these:

Right.

Lime green (Mmmm!) with black designs.  Awesome.  Now, remember the replica costs $265.00.  The real bag costs $2800.00.

Unless you're very art nouveau, would you pay $2800 for this bag?  It's a nice bag (I'm lying) but I would not get my $2800.00's worth.

Before you think I'm crazy, I already checked, and YES, this is a real bag.  Seriously.  Obviously Karl was jealous of Gucci's claim on all things Russian and had to introduce their own Romanov bag.

No offense to anyone.  My intent is not to hurt anyone's feelings, especially if you're hip and funky enough to appreciate the bags, but my 5 year old can make this bag and he'd be all giddy doing it.  Gluing things to fabric is his new found passion!

And in case you're wondering, YES, that fabric is supposed to be like that.  Not quite straight, sewn on other quilted fabric with 8,000 pins attached to it.

Wow.  My husband is a great, great guy (most of the time!), but if I told him that I paid $2800.00 for this "pin bag", I'm seriously thinking he'd be looking for places to hide my body.

He's all for nice looking stuff for $2800.00 but he'd have a mouth full of smart remarks for that bag.  And honestly, I can't say I blame him.  Part of me wants to tell him I splurged today and bought this bag.  Just to see his response!  LOL.

Again, if they took off that red fabric and all those pins, it'd be a great bag, like the first grey one!  Why ruin a good thing!

Happy Shopping...for all new things Chanel!

Miu Miu Butterfly Satchel

I haven't posted very many Miu Miu bags on the site and I almost never speak of them here.  Wanna know why?

I'm afraid.  See, I think you guys know that I keep telling you that there are some lines (LV, Chanel, Balenciaga, Chloe, Gucci) that are done VERY WELL (99% mirror image, aka AAA, aka 7 star grade replication), then there are some designers that are done very well ON SOME HANDBAGS and to be truthful, not so good on others.  Sure they may all say XYZ designer's name but XYZ is not a good replica through and through.

Miu Miu is like that.  There are great bags like this one:  The Butterfly Satchel.

It's done very well and with great detail.  This is by no means an easy bag to copy.  There is stitching to this bag that is quite difficult.  There is a lot of hardware and there is a lot of geometry to this bag.  Lip / main flap comes over the bag, bow ties thingies on the side, etc.

Miu Miu scares me.  I absolutely refuse to sell a Miu Miu bag directly from the factory to you - EVEN IF I HAVE SOLD IT A NUMBER OF TIMES BEFORE TO OTHER PEOPLE.  I have to intercept the bag.  I don't care if the bag is going from Asia to Australia (and let's face it, it's a lot cheaper for me to have the factory send the bag directly to Australia than to have them send it to me in Canada, where I inspect it, and then I re-pay for shipping to send it out to Australia!), but sometimes these things need to be done.  They definitely need to be done with Miu Miu.

Why?

Well folks, it's just not a popular brand.  Yes, we 'in the know' know about it but most people have never heard of it.  So those 'in the know' order bags like the Butterfly Satchel and as such, bags like this are done really well by the factory.  The replica Satchel stands up to the original bag.  The problem stems from the fact that there are hundreds of different Miu Miu bags, most are obscure and not well known at all.

Moreover, Miu Miu is one house of fashion that radically changes their look and their signature leather.  Unlike Monogram or Chanel quilted leather where the same type of leather is used to make hundreds of different styles of bags, Miu Miu uses calfskin for a fall line and then uses lambskin for a spring line.  While this is great for Miu Miu and their ability to change things up, it's a nightmare for most replica companies (I know tough beans, says Miu Miu!).

In the end though, the person to get the shaft is the newbie replica buyer.  He/she sees a great Miu Miu bag and doesn't realize that the factories have only had a few runs of the bag - not enough to perfect and certainly not enough to boast about.  There are usually a lot of problems.  And if the problems are not visible, then there are inherently problems with quality, i.e. hardware falls off, straps break, etc.

So what to do?

Ask someone in the know (*flashes pearly whites*). I can usually help you in deciding what to buy and what to steer clear of.  But there is a problem in this system.  It hasn't happened to me yet, but I can sense some folks think I'm trying to rain on their parade and their choice of handbag.  Remember folks, I'm here to sell handbags.  If I'm not selling handbags, then, umm, well, umm, WHY AM I WRITING A BLOG ON AND KEEPING A WEBSITE WITH HANDBAGS ON IT???  In the end it's much easier for me to sell you what you have your mind set on, than to convince you that, well, that bag might not be so great and here's why.

If I don't recommend a bag, it's not because I'm trying to horde that style for me, me and more me!  Girlfriend, I can get any bag I want...remember, I work with the factory that makes them!  No, not hoarding.  I'm trying to protect you.  I'm caught in a bind.  If I let you buy the bag and it turns out to be crap, then you're gonna flip on me, tell me I suck and that I should be shot.  And if I don't let you buy the bag, then you think I'm giving you shitty customer service, tell me I suck and that I should be shot.  *Grin*.

Hmm.  There really is no rest for the wicked replica salesperson!

All joking aside.  Ask.  Ask.  Ask.  I mean, ask nicely, but ask.

This bag gets a thumbs up.  I have sold MANY of these and they all hold out well.

P.S. I had a very young (had to be!) reader write to me today and tell me that she wants the bag that Vanessa Hudgens (sp?) carries all the time.

I was like who?  She wrote me back and told me, duh (I could see her rolling her eyes at me too)!  Like, Zac Efron's girlfriend!

I was like, wha?  Zac (who spells his name wrong by the way - where's the freakin' "k"), who's he?

Clearly, I'm not as hip as I should be.

So there you have it.  One of the best Miu Miu replicas is carried around by Zac Efron's girlfriend, Vanessa.  Umm, they are great people?!?

LOL.

Happy Shopping!

Yeah!!!!

Renee from the USA won the November contest for the Balenciaga wallet.  Renee, thanks for such a great submission as to why you should win the wallet.  It really brought happy tears to my face!

Enjoy your new wallet, Renee!

Okay, moving right along!

December's contest is going to be a little bit more work but it's the kind of work that is well worth it, and it is made sweeter by winning ONE of the following 4 prizes.  You can win your choice of any if the following replica items:

1.  Balenciaga The First handbag; or

2.  Chloe Paddington (which is still on sale for $165USD all of you writing to me!!); or

3.  A pair Christian Louboutin shoes (your choice of style but it cannot be boots); or

Here's what you gotta do.  Please don't be discouraged.  It's XMAS time and regardless of religion or faith, it's a time to give.  This has been a brutal year economically for most of us.  It's important to remember that while we can sit here and casually talk about handbags, most people are wondering where they will get their next meals.

Here's the contest.  Please donate a few hours of your time (let's say 4-5hrs) and write me a short description of what you did and how you made a difference.  How will I know you didn't make it up?  I won't but I think that if you are honest to yourself and see that this act is more than winning a bag, then you will be honest to me too.

The story you send me has to do with volunteer time you take on after December 1, 2009.  You cannot write to me about a time back in 1999 when you donated some time to your high school dance committee (and expect to win, that is).  Please make sure the volunteerism has something to do with helping / aiding the less fortunate in your area or on a bigger, global scale.  Helping women shelters and helping children in any way is always a good and simple way to make a difference.

Your entry needs to be at least 100 words.  Unlike last month's contest, no creativity necessary, just honesty and goodwill.

Good luck everyone and most importantly, thank you for making a difference.

Loewes

Here is another new brand that I will be uploading to the website...some day.

I love this bag.  THIS is me.  Love the look.  Love the cut.  Love the style.  When I was in London about 4 years ago, I bought a Loewe's handbag and let me tell you, it is by far one of the best leather handbags out there.

Loewe's reminds me of another brand from yesteryear.  When I was a teenager / early 20's the cat's meow in handbags was a company (still popular btw) called Bree.  They made handbags that were so ridiculously expensive (for back then!) that it brought tears to my eyes, but they were ALL THE RAGE.  For the longest time Bree had this very whitish /yellow coloured leather that got dirty and brown quick.  That leather, despite its colouring, was something else though.  Just buttery soft, thick and so durable.

I have girlfriends who went broke in their early 20's buying a Bree bag and are STILL using it now in their late 30's.  Now that's value!  And the bags, the cut, the styles are still fashionable and coveted today!

You cannot go wrong with that kind of an investment.  Loewe is a lot like that signature brand, Bree.  Very few people know about Loewe.  It's not flashy.  It's definitely not for the very young bippy, boppy girl.  It's for women who feel like they know who they are, want to make an impression and are serious about looking good.  The bag in the picture is about the most flashy one Loewe makes, and you can see that's not very flashy.

Quiet demure.  It's something most of us learn to appreciate with time.  And trust me, we all need it!

Happy Shopping!

Bummer

My regular computer is at the office.  Yesterday my husband and I were on our way to our niece's confirmation and the computer was running low on batteries. I asked hubby to stop by my office so that I could charge it while this whole confirmation, lunch, family stuff was going on.  I was hoping to get it on our way back home.  No such luck.  I had two exhausted boys and a very tired husband.  That means I have no computer.  That really means that I have no pictures here.

I do have a very nice 17" Dell with no "H" key (ahh the joys of kids...), and NO PICS OF ANY BAGS!!! I think I"m having withdrawal.  I have promised like 18 people pics and I promise I will have them shortly with descriptions of the bags sometime today!  Bear with me.

To all those writing today, my responses will be a bit slow again.  Sorry it's a busy weekend for non bag, non business, non office work.

Hope your weekend was less hectic than mine.  Happy Shopping in the meantime!

In Love...

Just the other day I was feeling wistful and wondering if a new bag was coming my way.  After all, I've had my LV Suhali now for at least 3 months!  I love this about replicas.  You can change them with the seasons (to be used another year of course!) and not feel guilty because you paid an arm and a leg!

Well someone was hearing me cry the blues because here is a brand that is new to my site and quite frankly, I've always have loved their bags.  Very classic.  Very sophisticated.  Very elegant.  All wrapped up into one.  My favourite combo for designer handbags.

This is the Mulberry Elgin:

Nice, huh?  I know it's not for everybody. I had a couple of friends say, "too plain".  Well la dee dah!  I like it.
Timeless and classic bags like this get recycled over and over again and even when you're old and grey, it will still be in style.  If you have a ton of these, don't bother buying any more, however, if you're just starting your handbag collection, always make sure you have a couple of classic totes that can take you from the office to out with the girls or on a date in style.

This bag will probably be $250.00USD (with delivery) once it is on the site.  I'm not 100% sure of that price.  I hope it's actually a bit lower.  I'll try.  Fingers crossed!

Happy Shopping!

We Have A Winner!

Folks, we have a winner for the November contest!  I have contacted our winner and am waiting for her to reply!  Since it's a holiday weekend, I'm probably not going to hear from her until Monday.  If she doesn't reply by Monday night, my runner up will win!

December contest is gonna be up by Sunday night!

That contest is a doozie.  You can win 1 of 4 awesome prizes.  I'm not on my computer right now and so I have no access to my pics, however, you have the chance to win the Chloe Paddington, LV Damier Speedy 30 or a Balenciaga The First, OR and I added this in last minute, a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes!

Look for details for the December contest tomorrow!

198 Chloe Paddingtons sold!!  Whew!

Confirmations, Family and That Stuff

I will be unreachable for most of today. I have a Confirmation early in the morning and believe it or not, they don't like me bringing the laptop into the Church!  Kidding.  I don't want God to strike me down.

Then we have family stuff...ALL DAY!

I am here to answer all your questions.  The replies will just be a little delayed today!

Write me and I will reply later tonight when I'm back home.  Thanks guys and have a good one!

Burberry Kick

I finally have good quality AAA+ replicas in Burberry and I'm really impressed with some of their styles.  I can't say I have been a big Burberry fan in the past.  It's always been a bit too "dainty" for me.

But check out this beauty!

I love, love, LOVE that colour and that shiny leahter.  Burberry's talkin' my game!

The only nay I have about this bag is the skimpy handle.  I'm not sure it "fits" the size of the bag.  I mean you give me that much space, I'm gonna fill it up!  Having said that, I need a stronger handle.

On the replica side, the copy is done well.  The leather matches in weight and in feel.  Very supple.  Very, very luxurious looking and feeling.

I think I have a my new favourite brand of the week!  Burberry.

I can't sell you the above bag!  I don't know how much it costs.  I will have pricing soon.

Happy Shopping!

Busy Busy Busy

Dreadfully busy today.  Wow.  Insane.

I will have a post shortly.  I think I might even have a bag of the day!  Progress, people.  Progress.

Bear with me.

Until then, I want to say Happy Shopping but you guys are going a bit insane!

How about Happy Shopping!

Chloe Paddington Hangbags

I am 153 Chloe Paddington's sold.  That's a lot!

I don't think I've answered so many questions about padlocks and keys!  To be honest, I didn't think so many questions could possibly exist!

So someone sent me this picture and wanted this colour in the Paddington handbag.  It's a very pretty colour and yes, I do have it, but this is not a good replica.

It's actually got a name, this kind of replica.  No, it's not called "shit".  It's actually called "5 star replication".

Do you see it?  Do you see what is "wrong" right off the bat?  It's those mock adjustable strips of leather located on the far left and far right sides of the bag.

See 'em?

This is what a good Paddington replica is supposed to look like.  See how the side mock adjustable buckles are on the side of the bag and not on the top of it?  To some this is a small detail, however, it is a major thing.  You don't want to be selling bags like this when you are claiming to be selling 7 star replication.  See how the first, lighter coloured bag cannot be called "mirror image"?  Those studs which hold the mock adjustable buckles are studded into the leather and so they don't swivel to the top of the bag and then swivel to the side.  Even if they did swivel on the replica to try to get the look they needed, they sure don't swivel on the original bag.

Now why is it called "5 star replication"?  Well, everything else on this bag is golden.  It's very good quality leather that resembles the same leather as the original bag.  The hardware is good.  It matches in look, weight and in feel to the original bag's hardware.

The specs of the bag are also usually bang on.  The length, width and height measure up. The differences, and sometimes there are several, is that something (in this case the mock adjustable buckles have the wrong placement) doesn't match up.   The real problem becomes when a retailer/reseller tries to sell the 5 star replication for 7 star prices.  That is truly the shameful part and that is what makes customers wary.  To be t somewhat fair, sometimes a retailer/reseller doesn't know.  He/she just isn't aware that grades of replication exist and to some extent what those grades are.  My personal opinion on that matter is that no claim should be made then.  Don't say it's 7 star replication if you're not sure, right?

See if a 7 star replication bag of the Paddington costs around $250.00 then it goes to say that a 5 star replica should run you no more than around $150-175USD.  And that makes sense, price wise.  Not everyone is as detail oriented and some of us are on a budget.  We want something that says Chloe on it but we don't necessarily want to pay Chloe prices.  Actually all of us that visit a replica site shares that sentiment!

The question then becomes :
Why does 5 star replication even exist?  Why would all factories not just upgrade to 7 star replicas?
Well, see this is where it's more an economic issue than a replica issue.  The factories set up extensive and EXPENSIVE runs of various bags and hundreds of styles.  It's all trial and error to get it right  You'd think it's more scientific than that but it's not.  Incidentally, if you read on a replica's sites "About Us" page that they actually buy the real bag, then painstakingly take it apart to copy the original pieces one at a time,..stop right there and have a laugh.  Seriously?  You run a several hundred million dollar factory and you get your ideas from buying one Chanel or LV bag and dissecting it?  Huh?  No, no one does this because this is not how business is run on a large scale and I'm sure a factory that needs to keep producing in order to be efficient  and profitable does not have time to run out to the Chanel boutique to take apart bags!  All design and replication is now done in programs like Autocad and industrial cutting machines then controlled by computers.

When they are first copying the bags, and making replicas, the bags are never perfect.  Something always in the end, never matches up.  Some lines, for some factories, get improved because they are in demand (LV and Chanel are good examples) and so the factories get to make them over and over and thus practice each time and produce better quality replicas.  Some lines at some factories don't get improved.   It's therefore cheaper for the factory to keep producing the 5 star replicas because someone (*cough* Canal Street vendors *cough*) will buy them!

So you then get:

Hahahaha - see the studs on the lock??!!??  Where did that come from.

But all laughing aside, if you were to feel the leather and smell it and touch it, it would in fact feel like a real Chloe Paddington handbag.

When you should have:

The Men Are Shopping!

The male population has been writing like mad men lately. I cannot believe how many guys I have helped choose out a bag in the last couple of days. Most come already equipped with the information and just need some guidance. Others come saying:
Him:  "I need to buy, uhh, a handbag".
Me:  "Sure.  What designer are you looking for?".
Him:  "A good one.  Someone popular.  You know, something in  black.  I need it by December 15, too.  Is that possible?"
Me:

 Right.

Moving right along.  One of my new readers has asked for this bag for this girlfriend.  It's the Chloe Heloise Hobo.  I have not thought about this bag in ages.  It is a FANTASTIC bag.  It also comes in black but it's super chic and classic in the tan colour.  The factory I deal with does a pretty good job on Chloe products and this Hobo is no exception.  There are a lot of pluses to this bag.

Firstly it has a couple of little pockets inside for keys and small knick knacks that are never findable when you need them most.  There is also a small pocket on the outside for a small phone, which should be exactly where you need it since you have like 4 seconds to answer the phone before it kicks into voicemail!

It is soft supple lambskin leather and it is distressed.  The bag itself is a bit boyish but the detailing on this bag is very soft and that is where the femininity comes out for me.

The bag is $270.00USD and that includes shipping to anywhere in the world (some exceptions apply).  I'm putting it on the website as I write this!

LV Keepall 55

This commercial with Sean Connery must be airing a lot because yesterday I got 12 requests for the waterproof LV Keepall 55 and today I have had about 9 requests for it.  ALL FROM GUYS!

I have ordered the bag from the factory who just produced it with the same bells and whistles as the original, including the SUPERB waterproof ability.

This I have to see.  Apparently, you are supposed to be able to submerge the bag entirely into water, leave it there, and it still comes out dry.  Promo pics for the real LV show this pictorial quite vividly.

My skeptical question, for real and replica, is how can the zipper keep water out.  I would think the zipper is the weakest link (no pun intended) in this bag and that there would have to be some leakage there, non?

When I called my supplier in China, she told me that she too was skeptical that the factory was going to be able to replicate the bag to 100% waterproof.  She told me that she had to try it herself and sure enough the replica was waterproof.  The water dripped off the outside, and it was bone dry on the inside.  She even gave me this promo description:

Once closed, this Keepall 55 becomes totally waterproof even when completely submerged. An exact replica of the Keepall 55, it features all its attributes: spacious and supple
Monogram canvas, polyamide and polyurethane, brass and zamak pieces, waterproof and airtight zippered closure, rounded handles with attachment, removable adjustable strap, removable address label, Louis Vuitton Inventeur plate on the outside.

This is clearly something I'm going to have to check for myself.  If it's as good as they say, then I'm getting one for my husband!!  He is and always has been a health nut.  This will make a great gym bag for him and since it will keep all that sweaty stuff in, then we don't have to worry about mold and nasty scents!

So here's what I do know for sure.  The carry bag is a very good replica and matches the original in mirror image ways.  I never ever have any doubt on LV products from this factory and this bag is no exception.

What I don't know is if it is as waterproof as the original.  For that matter, I'm not even sure the original is as waterproof as they say.  I have this skepticism about the term "100% waterproof".

I live in Canada and every so often I buy a pair of "waterproof" boots.  After one winter, I quickly learn they just meant "water resistant", and that meant applying an expensive spray, which in the end did not even produce results THAT water resistant!

So for those of you that have ordered the bag with me, hang tight.  You know the deal, I'm not processing any payments yet.  I'm gonna do some of my own tests on it for waterproofness.  Once it's all good and in the clear, I will start to ship out the bags!

For those of you who might be interested, the bags are $270.00USD and include shipping to anywhere in the world (some exceptions apply).  If it is everything that both LV and the replica factory state that it is, it would be an awesome gift for the man in your life. Women could use this bag as well.  No doubt, but it is a HUGE bag.

Please note that we're closing in on that December 25, 2009 date.  I don't know if these bags ordered now and after I complete my own inspection / testing will get to you by XMAS.  Sorry.

Happy Shopping!

It's that easy!

Chloe Bag Update

Just a quick update.  Just Like the Real Thing is having an awesome sale on Chloe Paddington handbags.  Right now they are $165.00USD and include shipping to anywhere in the world.  You can read more about it and see more pics here in a previous post here.  I am at roughly 76 bags sold.  This is a great deal.

As previously mentioned, this low price is negotiated with my supplier, due to quantities bought.  There are no defects on these bags, they are not discontinued models nor do they have any poor workmanship.  They are made with genuine, super soft lambskin leather, come with a dust bag and have all the Chloe stamps and tags.  They are AAA+ or 7 star replication quality.

I've gotten a ton of email and a lot of REALLY good questions about the bags.  Just some notes to answer some common questions for everyone.  Firstly, Chloe is replicated very well by the factory that I deal with.  And as far as I can tell from inspecting the real bag (which I own and also some friends own) and the replica, the Paddington is a fairly easy bag to copy (that is, no intricate layered patterned leather, like Burberry, for instance) and the Paddington replica is therefore about 99% sameness to the original.  There are no noticeable physical differences that I see between the Chloe replica and the real bag, however, the replica is still a replica and therefore was not made in a Chloe authorized factory, but rather a factory in Asia.  In case you're wondering, the replica uses the exact same lambskin leather and copies the hardware very well.  If you wanted to differentiate between the original bag and the replica, you would find it by removing (ripping out) the inside lining of both bags or by verifying the serial number with an official Chloe database.

The most detail oriented part of this bag is the metal studs, their size, shape and their placement on the bag.   As I have written in the past, hardware is where the replica factories make or break the likeness.  Incidentally, copying the leather is usually not a huge issue for them.  Exceptions:  some Burberry bags and LV Epi leather.

Here is a link to Nieman Marcus' site, you will see that maroon coloured Paddington here. I am posting the pic here however, please note that I am not picture manipulation savvy and so I could only do so much with a flash picture.

Aside from lighting and Nieman's picture being a lot brighter, you will see that that the two handbags do look the same.

Let's do a checklist on every detail to ensure we're on the same page.  Open up another tab or session of your web browser.  Keep that link side by side with this blog entry and let's go through the details together.

Studs:
Handle:

You will see three studs of two different sizes on each handle looking straight at the bag, the pattern is SMALL rounded stud, BIG flat stud, SMALL rounded stud.  You can zoom in on the pic at the Nieman Marcus site and see this detail.  I will post different angles of the replica bag as we discuss more details.

Closures / Loops:
Focussing on the right side of the bag (right by the "g" in "Thing"), so we're all on the same page, you will see square shaped loops to attach the handle to the bag and once attached you will see a elongated piece of leather that attaches right onto a tear drop shaped piece of leather.  Like the original, you will see double stitching around the tear drop piece since it is securing the handle well to the bag.  Right where the tear drop is double stitched to the bag, you will see 4 metal studs, in pairs, at the top part of AND on either side of the tear drop, and two same sized metal studs at the bottom of the tear drop.  The studs do not form a perfect square and are not supposed to be in perfect alignment.  See it? You can also go to the Chloe site and see some more pics of the Paddington bags there.

Immediately to the farther right of the tear drop patch is a mock adjustable clasp, with the square C-shaped hardware.  The hardware has the Chloe stamped right on it as well.   Here is a close up of the hardware on the Chloe site

You can see from the pic to the left that the hardware is also squarely C-shaped hardware on the replica.
The C-shaped closure is attached to a narrow piece of leather which is studded to the front and back of the bag.  This strip of leather is not sewn to the bag.

Here is an extreme closeup.  When you have a high resolution picture like this you need more light, hence the difference in appearance. And from the replica picture on the left, you can see "Chloe" inscribed on the square C-shaped hardware.

Please note that on this pic, there is Chloe inscribed on the square C-shaped hardware and that's because it's not!  Chloe does only inscribe "Chloe" on one square C-shaped hook.  It is always on ONE side of the bag.  The Chloe website photo is showing the C-shaped closure / loop to the RIGHT of the lock.  If you go to the Nieman Marcus site, and zoom in to the far left, you will see the inscription on that pic, but if you zoom in on the far right, you will not see any inscription.

Still with me?  And you wonder why I might leave handbags!

Bottom studs:
The bottom of the bag has 16 studs of two different sizes.  The outside of the bag has small studs in the four corners of the bottom of the handbag.  These same studs are found along the length side of the middle of the bag as well.  Intertwined between the small studs are 6 slightly larger studs that act as the feet of the bag as well.

Lock and Key:
A very characteristic and hence important part of this bag.  The lock, key and hardware on the replica all match in look, weight and feel to the original bag.

The key comes attached the bag with a strip of leather.  It is removable.  For the brass locks, the key matches in weight and look.  It has "Chloe" inscribed on it. The lock is always wrapped in the same leather as the bag itself.  On that leather strip is inscribed "Chloe", you know, in case you forget who makes the handbag!

The Diamonte keys are  bedazzled with the diamond crystals that are the exact same size as the crystals on the lock.  Both Brass and Diamonte locks are exactly the same size.

I know this is a lot of information.  By the way, this is my job when I scope out bags.  Welcome to my world!

Metal Plate:
This pic at first looks like a mistake on the part of the replica.  If you look up at the Nieman Marcus picture, you will see that you can see the lock placed DIRECTLY on the metal Chloe plate.  What you cannot see in the Nieman Marcus picture are the two leather zip closures that you can attach to your bag to a) keep your bag closed and locked and b) keep the metal lock from rubbing up against and scratching the metal plate.  If you look at this picture, on the Chloe website, you will see the two leather zip closures / metal protectors dangling next to the lock. In my pic, I have closed up the bag and slipped the zip closures on to the metal hook and locked the lock onto the bag.  Therefore, in my picture, the metal plate is obstructed.  In Nieman Marcus' picture, you can see that while the bag is zipped up, it is not locked closed and so the metal plate shows.

To me metal rubbing metal is never a good thing because you can easily damage your hardware and it will look crappy in no time.  Also if you're like me and walk very fast, you will hear the clink!, clang!, clink! with every step!

The metal plate itself is very simple.  Studded in four corners and glued to the bag, it simply reads, "Chloe".  No "made in...", no "of Paris".  Nothing.  Just "Chloe".

Where the flap that houses the metal plate meets the bag, is also an inscription, right onto the leather, of  "Louis Vuitton"!  Just joking!!  Remarkably, it too reads, "Chloe".  Here, in the leather, it also reads "MADE IN ITALY" in all caps.

Zippers:

There two opposing direction zippers on any Chloe Paddington bag and they are always (scratching head to try to think of an exceptions), always silver in colour.  Despite the fact that all the other hardware is brassy goldish in colour the zipper is still silver.  The zipper's ties are what come together on both sides and lock into place onto the metal plate so that you can add your decorated lock for extra security!  Remember those leather zip closures / metal protectors I was talking about above?  Those are the pulls for the zipper.  Each pull has 4 studs and these studs match the studs on the mock adjustable straps located on each side.  You can see the silver zipper teeth here and in the replica you can see the silver teeth on the blue replica Paddington here:

Handles:
The handles in the Nieman Marcus picture are very misleading.  I've never seen such perfect, self, straight standing handles in my life.  In my pics you can see an invisible string, holding the handles up so that I can show you size and length.  My handle holding apparatus also causes the leather to bend in certain ways.  You can see simple bending on the Chloe site.  Please note that another slightly misleading factor in the Nieman Marcus picture, and I'm sure it's just done for aesthetics to make everything seem smooth, is that the handles are covered with extra leather.  Nieman Marcus makes it look like there is a very smooth leather covering, almost paper thin.  In fact this is a whole second layer of leather at the top of the handles.

It's here for the usual reasons:  to protect most of the handle from the sweat produced by all palms (don't laugh, it's true), for a more comfortable grip, and overall reinforcement for an area of the bag where it gets, well handled, a lot!  The reinforcement leather is sewn into place and does not slide all over the place.

Lining
Unlike other designer bags, where the lining can be quiet intricate and fancy with woven logos and brand names, the lining in a Chloe Paddington is simple cream coloured cotton.  It has no distinguishable Chloe features and is plain.  The lining, as far as I can remember from the original bags and the replicas, is always a plain, cream coloured cotton lining.   There are other Chloe bags that have slightly more ornate linings but I am (almost) certain it is never the Paddington.

And there you have if, folks.  The Chloe Paddington replica dissected and examined.  What did I forget?  I think I have covered the roughly 7 million questions I had to answer!  If I forgot something, write me and I will clarify.

Take advantage of this Chloe Paddington offer, folks!

Really, Really Hate...

...the justliketherealthing.net website's shopping cart issue.  If  I continue with the handbags in 2010, then I will definitely find a new alternative.  I cannot take the format that exists now.

There are a number of problems with the current structure.  I hate that I upload mega high resolution pics, and these tiny little thumbnails show up.  Ugh.  Why did I bother with high resolution pics then?

I really dislike that it only offers PayPal as an option to buy.  I tried to offer Visa and Mastercard as well as PayPal and now I have that "coming soon" glitch.  Double Ugh.

Lastly, as soon as I had purchased this site, I noticed that I really, really disliked the categorization abilities.  There's no way to group items together.  It would be nice to have main headings like Chanel, and once that is clicked a page comes with options "Chanel Bags", "Chanel Sunglasses", "Chanel Scarves", etc.  It's so incredibly "messy" right now.  All the categories are listed above the products and if you have 20 subheadings under Chanel, then main headings and subcategories all get listed.  Triple Ugh.

I am seeking other possibilities, but for those of you who have asked why I may close down the handbag side of things, this is the reason.  The website, its maintenance, and its issues are a LARGE chunk of time!

Chloe is sold out now in 2 colours - silver and pearly blue.  Don't worry.  I can get more.  I just sold out of my allotment.  It's all good.

Happy Shopping...even on a crappy website.

Holy Chloe!

Folks, Chloe response is off the hook!  Wow.  I cannot tell you enough that it is a great deal.  To get a bag like this for less than $170USD, shipping in is beyond great.  It's down right fabulous!

In a couple of hours I'm up to 17 bags!  Like one in every colour too!  Some of you have asked me to post more colours here and link them to the site.  I know the site sucks.  Trust me.  I'm the first one to admit that.

So without further ado, here are some more colours in Diamonte first:

Army Green

Grey Diamonte

Pink Diamonte

Cream Diamonte
White Diamonte
Pearly Silver Diamonte

Pearly Gold Diamonte

The Gold and Silver Diamonte handbags are very hard to get.  They, coincidentally, are the most popular as well.  I am already short on the Pearly Silver.

These are the bags I have with BRASS coloured hardware only:

Light Brown

Black

Blue

Dark Brown

Maroon

Brick (slightly darker than Maroon with a slightly reddish lock)

Purple

White

Red

Light Pink

These are bags that I have with SILVER hardware.  These colours are VERY HARD TO FIND.

Pearly Green

Pearly Light Blue

I have more colours too but they kinda look like the others.  For instance I have more shades of pink with brass hardware but if you ask me the other colours look a lot like the ones posted.  If you want to see them, let me know.

Enjoy!
