Ugh!

So I just got THE worst story from a lady who has been majorly scammed, although I tried not to tell it to her that way.

There are sites on the internet that claim they have ORIGINAL designer bags for sale but that the bags they are selling are just factory defects. Come on! Seriously?

Companies like Chanel and Louis Vuitton don't have factory defects. They have no "sale bin".  Even at the outlet malls, their handbags are still VERY expensive. One of the reasons that they charge so much, and there are many, is that they really do put a lot of effort into making their stuff just right.

I had heard in the past that the selling of replicas as just "factory defects"  was taking place, however, I'm really shocked that it works. Folks, if anyone, and I mean anyone, tells you that you can get a REAL / AUTHENTIC / ORIGINAL [inset favourite adjective here] Louis Vuitton or Chanel bag for $200.00, please run as fast as your little legs will take you. You just can't. Not possible. Even if it's a stolen original, the theif or seller knows they can start bidding at a lot higher! The truth is that you are getting a replica. Nothing wrong with that but it's not the real thing.

I don't know about you but I'd rather know full well that I'm carrying a replica handbag, than to be strutting my stuff, thinking I'm carrying the real deal (when I'm so not) and that it's just got a little factory defect. Ugh.

I don't know if I should have a mean giggle or sigh in exasperation!

So moving right along to happier notes.  What do you think of this bag?

It's an awesome bag and I have it in my current stock.  It's popular and is a very good replica.

Here is it is in the dark brown.

I have it in the tan as well.  Awesome colour!

It also comes in a black but to be honest, unless you're lacking black handbags, this one is much better in tan or dark brown.

Happy shopping!

Why A Blog?

So I'm sure some people are thinking, why a blog?  Why not a regular website, with pictures at every angle and prices?

A blog is just easier.  No, I'm not being cheap!  I swear!  I can afford $10.00 to register a doman name.  I just find a blog more...personal.  I believe in building relationships and trust.  Right now you can ask me anything about a bag and if I don't know the answer, I'll get it for you.  I have that kind of time to devote to each customer.  My main goal in this handbag stuff is not to make loads of money.  I have a job.  I have kids and I have a husband.  Trust me when I say that is more than enough to keep me going!

Even if you don't buy from me, I want you to have the tools and know how that will allow you to make a good purchase.  I have many a girlfriend who has made a purchase from an online site only to be greatly disappointed.  They have either gotten a very cheap imitation or not even the bag they had thought they ordered.  When they tried to get their money back, there was no reply from the other site.

This is going to sound harsh but if they had done their homework and not Western Union'd money to an unknown seller, or asked for more detailed pics:  side view, front view, inside view, bottom of the bag and at least ONE very close up of the logo or detailing of the hardware or leather, I think they could have avoided being scammed.

One girlfriend, who I hope doesn't read this blog, actually bought a bag, got a TOTALLY different bag, then complained, was told she had to send another $100.00USD to get the bag she thought she had originally ordered and you know what she did?  SHE SENT THE EXTRA $100.00!!  Needless to say, she's still waiting for that original bag.  That was in 2007!

There are no clear cut rules, but communication is a good start.  If you write a website and they send bag one or two words, incomplete sentences, or don't answer your question at all, yeah, I'd steer clear.

Latest bags to enter this blog.  The Chanel Hobo...Heaven~!~!

I have this bag now in black

I have it chocolate brown - my personal favourite!

The Eye

Since I'm in this business, I get a lot of factories / resellers / manufacturers asking me to take a look at their stuff and to sell it.

Without sounding like a snot, most of the stuff that comes my way is garbage.  I have to often decline the products.  Julia Child, the famous chef once said, "In order to make good food, you have to know what good food is".  This same thinking applies to designer handbags too!

I think, with the good privileges in my life, I have been fortunate to own many authentic handbags, and I can see defects easily.  I am also very anal about detail.  My husband hates it because it often delays things for us, like around vacation time when he's stressing to get bags packed and I insist on checklists.

I have noticed that if a replica company / factory is going to mess up in one area, it's always the replication of the hardware.  They may get the leather and the pattern bang on, but then they go mess it up with the hardware - the clasp, or the rings where the handle attaches to the bag, or the handle's buckle. Invariably, the hardware is usually off in colour (so instead of being a toned down gold it's a bright yellow canary gold - gawdy!) or it's just so cheaply applied that it's pulling away from the bag.

I don't know about you guys, but if you were paying $3,000 for a real handbag, it most likely will not fall apart. Nothing gives a fake away more than how poorly the hardware is attached to the bag or the generral look of the hardware.

Always, when buying a replica, look at that detail first.  Then focus on material, inside and out, then the labels and how they are applied.  Lastly, get a feel for the bag.  If it feels lighter than it looks like it should, it's crap.  Send it back!  Don't buy it.

Buy something that has substance.  All the real bags have "presence".

Here's a $1700.00USD Chloe Paddington.

Slated to be the "it" bag for 2005/2006 and yet is still a best seller!  The workmanship on my bags is superb!  Look at that detailing!  You can get a Chloe Paddington from me for $255.00USD and that includes shipping.  Hmm...$1700.00USD for the real thing or $255.00USD for a replica that even copies the hardware down to a tee.  No brainer!

And We're Off!

A few days ago I posted to another blog about designer bags and how I was going to be selling them.  OMG!  From a blog, the response has been unprecedanted.  Unreal!

I'm loving it.  I think finding the best quality, best priced bag for people is what I'm enjoying most.  I'm not even turning a profit on these bags.  I'm not really caring.  I just like it when people get what they were looking for.  I've had a huge want for Jimmy Choo Ramona bags.  Personally, I love this bag.  It's perfect for that night out on the town.  It might not be so visible from the pictures but it's quite blingy!  It's got a lot of hardware.  I love it!  It comes in several very sophisticated colours, like the usual black

navy and there is an off white colour that is just kicking!

Some people call it ochre, others call it ivory.  It's really nice.

I have three colours in stock:  navy, black and of course, that awesome, ochre / off white / ivory.  I am trying to get the grey in real soon.  That is so classy for fall.

One perk is that people send me pics of a bag that they want and, even for a bag guru like myself, it's the first time I'm seeing the design.  That keeps me on top of the latest designs!

I'm getting a lot of emails about bags.  Keep writing!  I'm always here to answer quesstions!

Happy shopping!!

P.S.  Trying to install a shopping cart right onto this blog.  That is the major delay of the day.  Sigh.

Just getting started!

Well, this is it.

The official start to another business venture. I have to admit this one is just a guilty pleasure. I love handbags! I think I'm actually addicted to them and love has nothing to do with it!

Background:

I travelled to Asia 5 years ago and I did it for another business venture. I learned so much on that trip about myself and business practices. My one favourite find, among many, was a factory that specialized in replica products. I saw many factories like this but this particular one was different. While they did a phenomenal job at most items, like belts, scarves and watches, their designer handbags were to die for.

If I haven't made it clear, I'm a handbag junkie. A self proclaimed afficionado...and happy to admit it. In my personal collection, I have well over 60 original designer bags. All bought for at regular prices at boutiques, outlet malls and off friends who were moving on up to the next best handbag.

Upon seeing the bags, I instantly felt a little foolish. I thought, why am I paying real prices for something that I can get for so much less. That lesson has stayed with me for a long time. Yes, I have to agree with you that the original designers pay fortunes, use creative talent and inspiration to create these pieces and funnel a lot of money into their production. I am not saying that one should only buy replicas. I'm only saying there is nothing wrong with a replica. For more of an explanation on this, please read the Terms of Use and the Disclaimer. If you have any questions, please write me directly.

Objective:

Moving right along, I brought some of the handbags home to Toronto and my girlfriends went ga ga over them. They could not believe the quality of the bags. Nothing was made from vinyl. Nothing was plastic. No detail was missing. To this day I use a LV Alma bag that no one knows is not real.

Finally, about a month ago, when a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend, wanted a bag, she asked me why I didn't just offer the bags online. I thought about it and while I admit I have an addiction but did I really want to spend this much time on it? And the answer is yes.

Having said that, yes, I am selling the handbags online. I will be updating this site on a regular basis and I will be adding pictures of bags I have in stock. That's just what I have in my personal stock to sell. I can get any bag for you. You just have to ask.

Currently, I have all LV handbags and wallets (Monogram, Mahina, Speedy, Hobo, Noe, etc.).

I have Chanel handbags and wallets.

I have Hermes handbags and wallets, including the Hermes Birkin handbags.

I have the awesome Prada Fringe.  I actually own this one.
Okay, I'm a little biased!

I am in the process of watermarking pictures, adding descriptions and setting up PayPal to operate right from this site (hopefull that will work).

Goal:

When I started to do my research into replica bag sites and I want to see what I could do differently from the millions of sites out there doing the same thing.  And this was a big one.  Most people that buy from me do so because:

  • I am fluent in English (well, I like to think I am!);

  • I'm in Canada, Toronto to be exact, and I'm on the same page as them on many levels, including style sense, deals, etc.;

  • You can reach me via phone (just ask for the number.  I find posting it here, just invokes calls from telemarketers);

  • They don't want to deal with a website they have never heard of, have no reviews on, and have little faith in the workmanship;

  • They don't want to deal with sellers that clearly have no grasp of the English language; and lastly

  • The owners are in far away land that if there is a problem with their order and/or satisfaction, fixing the problem will be nothing but a big headache.

Personally, I know that there is nothing more frustrating than dealing with an issue with someone that cannot understand you.  Doing that through email, the only communication option you get on about 99.9999% of these sites, exasperates the problem to nth degree and is MAJORLY frustrating.  Then you try the credit card option and try to deal with problem with your credit card issuer.  They also take at least 6 weeks to do their investigation, paperwork, etc.  They most likely will side with you but that headache is one I like to avoid.  Trust.

Next Steps:

Eventually I'd like to set up an area on this site to showcase particular bags, at your suggestions, and if you like it, we can do a bulk buy for that bag and that way everyone gets the bag for far less than buying one or two pieces.  So instead of a handbag costing $300CAD, if we buy 25 pieces, the bag now costs $200CAD.  You can then use that $100CAD you saved to buy a wallet!  LOL.  Now I know why my husband rolls his eyes at me.

If you have any questions while I do this start up phase, please contact me.  I'm selling bags on a regular basis in my day to day life.  This is not a full time venture for me.  It's strictly for fun.  Making huge profits was never my objective in this and that is why I can sell a Hermes Birkin for $325.00CAD (a replica that is 99% like the original) and include shipping to anywhere in Canada and the US.

Happy Bag Shopping!
